The Shell
The SBS Flight Case is made of fiberglass with a Gelcoat exterior coating. The white exterior reduces heat build up inside the case, in the event that it is subjected to prolonged period of direct sun light.  Our case was designed to accommodate a 3/4 size base with a padded bag and an extension.
PADDING

The back padding is made from one-inch thick dense foam and held in place with VELCRO. This makes it possible to remove the padding if your soft bag is to thick and extra room is required. Two four-inch thick foam blocks positioned at the base of the case  support your instrument when in the upright position.  Included are eight large two inches thick dense foam pads which can be positioned to fill the spaces between bass and case walls.

INTERNAL STRAPS
The straps are made from 1½ in. wide nylon webbing with snap buckles and are positioned in areas that put the least amount of stress on the instrument. One in the area of the neck block, the other at the
lower end of the bass.

BUILT IN WHEELS
The wheels are recessed into the case, eliminating
the need to remove the wheels before shipping. Durable,
chemical resistant, rubber ball bearing wheels ride on a
3/8th inch axle. Wheels are easily replaced should they
ever wear out.
LATCHES
These butterfly spring loaded latches create a very tight secure closure.  Simple to operate,  these latches pull the lid of the case tightly against the body.  There are six latch in all ensuring that the case will hold together under abusive handling.

GUARD RAILS

Vulnerable areas have been protected with WHM,
the same material used for kitchen cutting boards. This material is long lasting and can withstand constant abuse.

HANDLES

Five zinc plated, spring-loaded handles are located
at the top of the case, bottom, sides and shoulder for convenient handling, and are recessed into the case to prevent breakage.
